Sports Cars versus MPG
There are several reasons with the buyers to choose the different brands of sports cars. Some want speed, while another wants appearance and there are many who seek for the smart engine on board, or how fast it can accelerate in less than 10 seconds.
Today when the fuel’s price is hiking rapidly, people are more conservative about buying a sports car and one of the main questions that a customer will ask the sales person is how many miles per gallon of fuel does the car consume.
Here are two cars based on the records of the Department of Energy taken for comparison.
First one is very famous brand as well as one of the best sports cars ever made throughout the world, the 2003 BMW Z4 Roadster. This is a gasoline car having 20 MPG for city and 28 MPG for the highway or an average of 23 miles per gallon.
The second one is Jaguar that is a renown good brand and is sports car. The famous 2004 Jaguar XK8, 26 miles per gallon on the highway and 18 miles per gallon in city driving conditions for an average of 21 miles per gallon.
Now you have seen the difference between the two. The figures tell, one has good mileage in city driving conditions, whereas the other is better in the highways. The figures above are not definite since the fuel economy varies and is dependent on how the person drives the sports car.
These were just two examples, whereas you can see many other sports cars in the market which vary in performance and are especially perfect in a specific field. So one can compare before choosing the right vehicle to drive off the dealer’s lot. The deciding factor will then depend on a person’s preference.
No doubt, sports cars are ‘magnet babe’ which will continue to attract the buyers and collectors. Though there is not that much difference between these 2 sports cars, the gasoline mileage per gallon is an important factor that people will think about before choosing to buy one sports car over another.
