Gas Truck or Diesel Truck?

Everything manufactured over here has some merits and demerits as well. It’s all depend upon the usage of one, what kind of use he has with. Some particular things are made especially for specific purpose, that is same with the trucks of both classes- gas and diesel.

If you need a quick start, good acceleration and rarely a haul a heavy load and don’t plan to it for a long time that means you desire it to be like your car then definately gasoline engine is for you as it is smoother, fuel is easier to find.

On the other hand if you just need it for a heavy duty like- towing and transportation, then diesel truck is the best for you. No doubt it will cost you really high but you get many in return like good fuel economy, a long life accompany with you and more.

Here are some leading vehicle manufacturers and what they offer you.

Dodge
The latest models by Dodge Ram Heavy duty are  3/4 and 1 ton trucks 2500 and 3500 which today we have on the road. Earlier in 2002, the 245 HP 9.5L was not good enough.Dodge promised more powerful engines for the 2500/3500 platform and they delivered on that promise.

5.7L gasoline V-8, the new base engine is not only the most powerful engine of the group at 345 HP but also revives the well known and historical Hemi name.

Ford
Before 1994, their diesel engines were poorly built and no match for the big inch gasoline engines. But afterward in 1994 Ford helped push the 3/4 ton and 1 ton truck market to where it is today when it introduced it’s international engineered power stroke diesel in 1994.

The period of 1994 to 2002 was the golden period for Ford as,over 70% of super duty Fords were sold with the optional 7.3L V-8 diesel engine. The very engine promoted Ford among the leaders in diesel trucks.

Chevrolet/GMC
The well known gas engines powered GM2500/3500 twins Silverado HD and Sierra HD both come standard with GM’s 6.0L gas engine V-8.This engine is ideal for 3/4 ton trucks where towing isn’t a concern.  The upgrades start with the 8.1L gas V-8 that’s based on Chevrolet’s venerable big block engine.

With over all features and merits that a truck owner will expect to be in his truck, diesel trucks have proven to lead as they are great for towing, easy to maintenance and effecient with mileage. There is no need of tuning again and again as there is no spark plugs in diesel engines like in gas engines.Diesel trucks are built to go 250,000 miles or more before the engine needs to be rebuit, making them a purchase that is more than worth your money.
