Fight against Bad Fuel by Good Diesel Engines

Today a lot of modification has been done by the designers of diesel engines to make it advanced. Especially in engine fuel delivery to the combustion chamber. As a result latest Diesel engines are much quieter, smoother and powerful. But at the same time quality of Diesel fuel is hanging on the same type as it was earlier.

No sooner does it is produced it begins to deteriorate. Less than 30 days of refining, all diesel fuel, regardless of the brand, goes through a natural process called oxidation.  This process forms varnishes and gums in the fuel by causing the molecules of the fuel to lengthen and start bonding together.

As a result, it form Diesel sludge because all these components drops to the bottom of the fuel tank. Now the fuel begins to turn very dark in color, smell bad, and cause the engine to smoke. Moreover some of these clusters are small enough to pass through the engine filtration and on to the combustion chamber to cause engine to create pollution.

In the condition of extra sized clusters, only a small amount of molecules get burned and the rest are exhausted as unburnt fuel and smoke only. That is why according to a survey, eight out of every ten diesel engine failure are mainly due to poor quality of fuel. The filters can be cloged and further damage the engine because of the build up of contamination in the fuel system and storage tanks

Among the many reasons for bad fuel the foremost one is its increasing popularity and rapid demand. A long ago, it (Diesel fuel) used to be remained in the refinery storage tanks for a long period to naturally seperate and begin to settle, allowing the clean fuel to be drawn apart. But today due to its higher demand than ever, it (fuel) is never stationary long enough to settle, and the suspended water and solids are passed on to the person buying the fuel – you.

Another reason for this problem is changes in refinery techniques. To get more and more supply,diesel fuel is being filtered for more marginal portions of the crude barrel which cause in a product with thicker and contaminated. Hence a low grade product to suffer with.

Today as the time has turned to provide more and more with its latest technologies, we can hope for getting good quality of diesel fuel in future. But for now it is not good at all. If you run diesel fuel, all you can basically hope for is that the fuel you are getting isn’t contaminated.
